Wrestling Recipies Week 1 - WWE Ice Cream Bars

Photobucket

Back in 1987, World Wrestling Entertainment, then the World Wrestling Federation, released a delicious treat to various drug-stores and arenas throughout the country, which were called "Superstars Ice Cream Bars."

A magnificent combination of vanilla ice cream and cookie, this tasty treat featured various WWE Superstars of the time appearing on the front of the shell, including Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and more.

20 years later, these treats are STILL in production but not as prevelant as once was due to only 19 states CURRENTLY carrying the product, which is why most don't know that these treats now feature John Cena, Carlito, Batista and others on the front cookie shell.

If you have not had a chance to have one of these ice cream bars, you are in luck as at the top of the post, is a scanned page from the July 2008 issue of WWE Magazine that shows you how to make your own WWE Ice Cream Bar.

Since the scanned page has been reduced to fit this blog template, here is the step-by-step directions of how to make these addicting treats. Enjoy.

INGREDIENTS:
*Stella D'oro "Egg Jumbo" Cookies
*Vanilla Ice Cream
*Hershey's Shell
*Popsicle Sticks

DIRECTIONS:
*Measure 2.6 fl-oz. of Vanilla Ice Cream and spread onto a Stella D'oro Egg Jumbo cookie.
*Use a spoon to dress the ice cream with Hershey's Shell topping. Wait 60 seconds for it to harden.
*Insert a popsicle stick into the ice cream.
*Place ice cream on wax paper, chocolate side down and place in freezer for two-hours.
*After two-hours, stuff your face with ice cream.

Now, if you want an image of your favorite superstar on the front shell, here is what you do:
*Select a digital picture of your favorite Superstar
*Crop the image to 4"x2".
*Email the image to stamford@schakolad.com or rudy@kopykake.com with the subject: WWE Ice Cream Bar. Provide contact and mailing information (Prices may vary).

Once you receive your image, adhere the edible Superstar or Diva image to the outer cookie side, using frosting as glue BEFORE you place the ice cream on wax paper and into the freezer.
