WRESTLE SPEAK - THE WWE DICTIONARY

For this entry, I thought I would do something a little different and fun for everyone to read. Thanks to the folks at WWE Magazine, I have compiled all of the present words they have created in the magazine for the unofficial WWE Dictionary.

Below, you will find every word alongside their part-of-speech, if given, and definition as provided by WWE Magazine. In addition, new words will be added each month, so be sure to check this post for monthly updates.

Without further delay, I present to you:


"WRESTLE SPEAK - THE WWE DICTIONARY"

ANDRANGULATION [n.] – The unfortunate predicament of being trapped in the ring ropes during a match, much as the late Hall of Famer Andre the Giant often found himself.

CABLE CHARGE [n.] – The incredible reserve of strength a Superstar invokes from shaking the ring ropes just prior to flattening an opponent.

CEILING FAN [n.] – The hardcore fan who sits in the last seat in the arena.

CROWD MOUTH [n.] – The frustration a Superstar suffers from when out-shouted by a hostile audience.

DOUBLETRUNKING [n.] – The act of wearing underwear tights over a pair of stocking tights for no apparent reason.

GHOST BELTING [v.] - The motion a Superstar makes across his un-adorned waist to express his desire to one day wear any number of title belts.

GRAPIRON [v.] – A wrestler who once made a career on the football field.

H-D-SASTER [n.] – When WWE’s HD resolution reveals something terrifying, a la Snitsky’s yellowed teeth.

HARDCOURTESY [n.] – The rather considerate act of removing the TV monitors before slamming your opponent through the announce table.

HE-VA [n.] – A male WWE Superstar who takes a Diva-like interest in his appearance.

HIGH FLOP [n.] – When a Superstar attempts to land on top of his/her opponent, but smacks the mat (or ground) instead.

HOPE ON A ROPE [n.] – What a Superstar feels when trapped in a submission hold and reaching out for a rope break.

INFRINISHMENT [n.] – The act of using your opponent’s own finisher against him.

JEERLEADER [n.] – An unpopular wrestler who, while addressing a crowd, feels compelled to denigrate that town’s beloved sports franchise.

KENNEDUS-INTERUPTUS [n.] – When Mr. Kennedy interrupts a Superstar’s mic time by introducing himself.

KRING [n.] – The tiny metal ring that is exposed whenever a Superstar removes the turnbuckle, and which just happens to be perfect for crackling the skulls of opponents.

PIN WIGGLE – The convulsions of a Superstar desperately struggling to kick out of a pinfall.

PYROVOGUE [n.] – The pose a Superstar strikes when his pyro goes off.

RAMPLIFY [v.] – To make a finisher even more painful by executing the move on the unforgiving steel ramp outside the ring.

SEATVICTION – The act of a person being tossed from a ringside folding chair so that it can be used as a weapon.

SELF-APPARELIZE [v.] – To appear on television wearing one’s own merchandise.

SHANKTIMONIOUS [adj.] – Possessing the ability to conceal any foreign object, no matter how large, inside a tiny pair of trunks.

SHORTSTACKED [n./v./adj.] – When a superstar is pinned by a little person; a humiliating loss.

SUPERSTARTLE [n.] – The triumphant return of a lauded WWE Superstar from the post for one more special appearance.

TAG LAG [n.] – The inordinate amount of time it takes for a Superstar to tag his in.

TAGSTAB [v.] – To callously betray your partner during a match.

THEMESHOCKER [n.] – The terror experienced when a Superstar’s most feared enemy’s entrance music kicks in.

TITAN TROT [n./v.] – The hurried retreat of a victorious wrestler out of the ring, toward the ramp after he or she has unexpectedly won a match.

TOLL DEAF [n./adj.] – The condition that affects an enraged Superstar who continues to pummel his opponent even as the match-ending bell is struck repeatedly.

TRUNK’D – The condition a Superstar finds himself in after losing a match, thanks to an opponent grabbing a fistful of tights.

WHITE’S LAW [n.] – An unshakeable rule that states, “The more crucial the match, the more likely it is that the referee will be knocked unconscious at some point.” Named for oft-bumped referee Tim White, most famously nailed by Chris Jericho at Judgment Day 2002.

ZEBILIVIOUS [adj.] – Unable to spot flagrant rule-breaking during a match. Can be used to describe most WWE referees.

ZEBRAWN [n.] – The incredible reserve of strength a ref calls upon when attempting to separate two charging superstars.
